We Pay for Choreography!

Choreographing for Popdance is great fun and also rewarding – plus you get paid for it 🙂 (You must be a Popdance Partner in order to choreograph for the vault)

We welcome your choreography as it keeps the warm ups and routines fresh, exciting and different and has lots of different choreographers influences.

Here are some tips on choreographing for Popdance:

– always pick music that is iconic or well known. Let us know at info@popdance.co.uk which track you would like to choreograph to and ensure it hasn’t been used already. We ask that you have been teaching Popdance for a term before you submit any choreography.

– keep it easy and fun.  Always repeat choreography on the chorus as this really helps Popdancers in class and helps you when you teach

– avoid movements that are considered technically difficult (e.g. floor work), very specific to a dance genre (e.g. popping) or physical, very challenging moves (e.g. fan kicks)

– remember your audience and have fun with it!

– when you have finished your choreography, get someone to film you performing it in a good space.  If possible, perform it to the camera and then facing away from the camera as this will give the Popdance Teachers who are learning it from the footage the best chance of getting it right

– email the video to info@popdance.co.uk via www.wetransfer.com

– we will then make sure it is suitable for Popdance and once it’s approved by Popdance, we will send you a release form which you need to sign and return along with your invoice.

All choreography that you do for Popdance and get paid for by Popdance is then released by you to Popdance and could be used by all Popdance Teachers and shared in POP.  You are then not permitted to use or sell that choreography to any other body or company.  It is then owned by Popdance Ltd.
